The project “Shuno Re” (“Listen Up” in Bangla) is where the great Nafisa Isa and I work to preserve and celebrate Bengali language and culture in various creative ways.

Our collection includes some 1000+ vinyl records, books, and other pieces of Bengali ephemera, which we make available to artists, students, friends and family. Much of the music we share on our Instagram feed (link below) is not available for streaming elsewhere online.

We have offered pro bono translation and interpretation services to partners such as the “Parents Are Human” project in the US and Hive Mind Records in the UK. See links below.

We are available for all-vinyl DJ sets for cultural events in DC and NYC. Past host venues have included the Kennedy Center and Woolly Mammoth Theater. Be in touch to plan something great!
